Squirrel Lodge Closure
For the safety of ourselves and our guests, we have made the decision to close Squirrel Lodge with immediate effect until the end of May 2020.
Despite there still being NO OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT ORDER for Guest Houses and B&B’s to close, as we are members of the Keswick Tourism Association, we feel that its only right to act upon the advice given to us from them.
The current time frame for our closure sits with the 12 weeks’ mentioned in the Prime Ministers speech last week. However, this is a rapidly changing situation and it is possible that this will continue beyond that.
All affected bookings up until the end of May have been contacted and cancelled accordingly
We will of course keep our guests updated if further dates are to be affected.
These are difficult times for everyone and we would like to thank all of our guests for being so understanding and supportive. We look forward to welcoming you all back once this is over but in the meantime stay safe and we will all get through this together.

Just saw you on the news! Praying your situation changes and you are able to get some more government help. Could we help by paying for a room as if we’re staying in it? We love camping in Keswick and don’t want to see anyone lose their business. X

Good luck in all and in this moving forward successfully from it. Just saw the Look North report on your difficulties and we hope that you and the whole of Keswick, and indeed the whole Lake District, are able to bounce back from whatever evil this is. The Lakes are very special to me- I used to stay at High Lodore Farm just along from Grange when Celia and Martin Weir had it ( just along from the Lodore Swiss Hotel) -over 40 years ago- and I’ve shed tears when the weather has meant we had to come home early. Good luck to you all x
